Future directions of pacemaker technology:
-
Create pacemakers that are not affected by radio or electrical waves. This gives patients more freedom and less restrictions to what they can be around. This will also allow patients to have MRI scans and be around their home electrical appliances without the fear that they are interfering with their pacemaker. Pacemakers will not fail around these electrical objects and will become more reliable as well as convenient for the patients. People feel more safe and free with a pacemaker like this, making them feel as if they have a perfectly functioning heart.
- Create a longer lasting easy at home rechargeable battery. So doctor visits become less frequent getting the patient's life back on track giving them more time to free their minds from their pacemaker and having to worry less about whether their pacemaker battery is flat. If their battery does end up becoming flat pacemakers should be easily rechargeable to the point where the patient can do it home themselves without having to spend ours at the doctor, wasting their lives. In conclusion by improving the battery life and by adding and easy rechargeable feature, patients gain extra time for themselves, puts their minds at rest and reduces the amount of doctor appointments they have.
- Reduce the cost of pacemakers t make them affordable for everyone who is need of one. Right now pacemakers are extremely expensive restricting certain people from every owning one. I do not believe pacemakers cost $20 000- $ 25 000 to produce, the companies that make pacemakers obviously over price them making astonishing profits knowing that they are essential if you have heart conditions and desperately need one. Pacemaker pricing should be reduced greatly making them affordable to the public as they are a NEED and NO PRICE should be put on a life. So pacemaker technology should be reduced in price.
